Job Description
The Vice President of Finance will drive cross functional growth priorities across the business and operational excellence, in close partnership with the leadership team, including in the areas of business process and operations, location strategy, workplace experience and real estate, and potentially procurement to drive scale for GigaOm. This role will be a strategic member of the CEO leadership team and will evaluate, design and drive execution across projects for the company. The VP of Finance will be focused on helping transform our business processes and financial systems as well as partner closely with our People and Operations teams to ensure we are planning and optimizing for future growth. This person will lead, grow, and inspire a team of seasoned professionals, while working across the broader cross functional teams to enable and deliver GigaOm’s strategic growth goals. This position will be a key member of the CEO leadership team.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the CEO to develop plans for sustainable growth
- Partner across the finance and operations teams to drive execution, ensure alignment on growth and operational priorities, while ensuring best practices and collaboration
- Developing detailed income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow forecasts
- Completing monthly financial performance analysis and presenting key findings to the CEO and board of directors
- Manage capital allocation decisions (internal investments, M&A, etc.)
- Establishing and managing all accounting procedures, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, A/R and A/P, taxes, and registrations
- Managing the company’s banking relationships
- Creating a systems roadmap and implementing financial technology
- Responsibility for key administrative functions for the company, including HR and Legal
- Partner with business leaders to drive growth objectives across the business in areas of operating leverage
- Interface with peers to evaluate and advise on the financial and operational impact of short and long-term growth and operational plans
- Retain, attract, develop and motivate key talent is critical as we build out the operational teams for scale
- Lead by example in developing, managing, motivating, recruiting and retaining a highly high-performing global team that supports the organization
- Inspire change and collaboration among diverse and distributed teams
- Encourage the sharing of best practices and insights across all members of the team
- Develop and coach continuously
Preferred qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in senior finance leadership roles partnering with executives at one or more rapidly growing, early to mid-stage companies (preference for technology/software experience)
- Demonstrated analytical skills, knowledge and understanding of operational excellence and business models
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of transformation at scale, along with building, mentoring and scaling teams and processes.
- Experience and knowledge in cross functional business process and end-to-end business and financial systems – including ERP, forecasting, Q2C, R2R, P2P and Q2C processes and systems
- Experience driven operational excellence and cross functional collaboration at all levels of an organization
- Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Management from a top undergraduate institution, or equivalent experience. Accounting knowledge and experience (CPA designation preferred)
- Proven track record of creating and managing financial reporting systems, processes, and tracking key metrics in one or more rapidly growing, early to mid-stage companies (preference for technology/software companies)
- Independent, self-motivated individual with a positive, service-focused attitude

- Deep subject matter expertise in large scale, growth initiatives
- Strong collaborator and partner with demonstrated ability to drive cross functional collaboration across business and finance teams at all levels

- Extensive network of external relationships that can be leveraged to keep a pulse on the business, industry dynamics, capital markets and access to established and emerging leadership talent
- Track record of building, leading, and inspiring high-performing teams
- Excellent communicator, both written and verbal. Highly responsible, with the ability to prioritize and multitask
- Capable of successfully managing C-level relationships and effectively partnering on financial planning and strategy development and execution
- Executive-level communication and presentation skills in both formal and informal settings
