One of the main things we want to do with artificial intelligence is use it to advance healthcare so that people can live longer and better lives. A couple of examples of that are Google, who has released a giant genomic storing service where you can store your genome. Over time they hope to have millions stored there. Then researchers can do experiments all over them all with privacy intact using artificial intelligence. Likewise, Microsoft has vowed to eliminate cancer in a decade by treating the disease like a buggy software program. They are building a computer made from DNA that will live inside your cells and will spot and eliminate cancer the instant it begins. Also battling cancer is IBM Watson. In a recent trial Watson was asked to diagnose cancer patients. In 99% Watson made the same treatment recommendation as a doctor’s, and in 30% of the cases Watson suggested additional treatment options gleaned from its vast storehouse of cancer research papers.
