Much has been written about artificial intelligence to enhance income of the wealthy. The interesting thing is, of course, that it helps a very few technology companies lock in their supremacy of the technology. Although AI is accessible to virtually anyone now, building platforms and doing projects with it are enormously expensive. And so it's the case that just 8 or 10 companies on the planet have access to all of the talent, all of the knowledge, had the money to buy all of the hardware, and this will almost certainly help them cement their positions at the top. Big advances in artificial intelligence probably are not the kinds of things that are going to be made in a garage by a couple of people after work. The kinds of advances those companies are working on take thousands of people working very hard, sorting through enormous amounts of data and putting a lot of hardware behind it. So, I think we're going to enter a world with a few AI superpowers, and they'll be private corporations.
