Chipp Walters completed his higher education by graduating first in his class with a Masters of Product Design from North Carolina State University. Ten years later, he was honored as the first Product Designer selected for the university’s distinguished alumni award.
He currently is CEO of Altuit Design in Austin, Texas with offices in New York and Silicon Valley and focuses on early stage cognitive visualization for various hardware and software projects including those from DARPA and Hyperloop.
As a successful entrepreneur, Walters has started numerous small and large companies, including the design firm Design Edge, the software service companies, Human Code, The Shafer Walters Group and Altuit.
He has also been the recipient of numerous industry awards in both software development and product design including being named one of International Design Magazine’s Top 40 Design Innovators.
Chipp still enjoys drawing and design and has authored a number of technical manuals for designers and artists along with several commercial software applications including mind mapping applications and learning software products for companies like Sesame Street. He has spoken at numerous conferences including giving a commencement address at North Carolina State University and the Keynote address as SXSW Interactive.
He still codes numerous dashboards and applications for himself and his team, like DiagramCreator a new english language spin on creating diagrams and workflows.
