HarperCollins launches digital-only teen imprint

HarperCollins is launching a new imprint, HarperTeen Impulse, that will publish digital short stories and novellas priced between $0.99 and $2.99. Upcoming titles include short stories by bestselling YA authors Walter Dean Myers and Sarah Mlynowski and novellas by Courtney Allison Moulton and Scott Westerfeld.

Ebooks startup Zola hires two publishing vets

Zola Books, a startup social ebook retailer that aims to sell titles from all publishers when it launches publicly this fall, has hired Seale Ballenger, formerly at HarperCollins, and Mary Ann Naples, formerly at OpenSky.
