Based in the Basque Country, Brenton’s an experienced IT and cybersecurity practitioner. He has worked for IT and cybersecurity organizations across the pharmaceutical, healthcare, manufacturing, e-commerce, media, and technology spaces. He’s currently working as a consulting security engineer to help companies modernize and develop sustainable, autonomous, and more effective security operations processes and detection pipelines. Previously, he worked as an application analyst, SOC analyst, and as a detection engineer.
An advocate for universal cyber awareness and training, Brenton believes that cybersecurity and IT professionals should teach and share their expertise and techniques for safe and secure internet usage with users of all ages, not solely in corporate environments. Additionally, he believes that efficient collaboration and knowledge sharing in diversified communities is the most effective approach to engage creative problem solving and augment our ability to learn.
When off the clock, he’s an avid cyclist, competes in cyber capture the flag competitions, or is spending time in the mountains with his wife, 2-year-old daughter, and their oversized dogs.
