Ray Lucchesi is the president of Silverton Consulting and has worked in data storage for over 30 years, mostly in engineering and marketing new enterprise class disk and tape automation products. Ray also speaks at major storage conferences and has authored numerous articles for the storage industry press.
At Silverton Consulting, Ray has helped storage vendors improve product development, marketing and strategy. Also, Ray has helped data storage end users evaluate and optimize new storage products. Ray writes on storage topics on his blog RayOnStorage.com and can also be followed on Twitter @RayLucchesi and is a co-host on theGreyBeards On Storage monthly podcast.
At StorageTek, Ray focused on marketing and product strategy. Before that, he directed embedded code development for StorageTek’s enterprise disk subsystem. Much earlier, Ray was lead architect and later managed the team that developed the host (server) software for StorageTek’s first automated tape library.
Ray holds a BS from Bradley University. Ray is a Senior member of the IEEE and a registered member of TASA (Technical Advisory Service for Attorneys). Ray was voted “Top Speaker – SNIA Tutorials” for his April’07 talk on VoIP data mining at the Spring SNW
