Third-party keyboard support in iOS is the new frontier for apps with numerous companies porting their Android keyboards to Apple’s mobile software. Fleksy is among those and what makes it stand out is a Guinness World Record for the “fastest time to type a text message on a touchscreen device.” The company just broke its existing record on an iPhone 6 Plus, bringing the time down to 17 seconds flat, a 1.19 second improvement.

Surely, it helps that the [company]Apple[/company] iPhone 6 Plus has a larger screen, with more space for those software keys. Regardless, on every device I’ve tested it on Fleksy is indeed quick. Here’s a video of the latest world-record breaking effort:

Fleksy’s auto-correct and word suggestions learn on a individual level: As you type with the keyboard, it begins to adjust based on how you communicate. You can also link your social networks and other cloud services and Fleksy will learn from those too. It’s certainly not the only mobile keyboard that leans from your communications history — SwiftKey is another great example — but it works really well.

In conjunction with the new world record, Fleksy is permanently reducing the price of its app by 50 percent to $1.99 for [company]Google[/company] Android, effective immediately. You can find it for iOS in the iTunes App Store with a $0.99 price tag or the Google Play Store for Android devices.

Also, Fleksy (and Swiftkey) both suffer from a backspace key bug in Contacts. Try editing a contact name in either keyboard and watch the cursor jump around. It makes Contacts almost impossible to use. The app makers put the blame on an iOS bug, but 8.1.1 did not fix it if that really is the case.

Or you could get a smart phone with an actual keyboard and not have to worry about any more issues with auto correct and type significantly faster than whatever speed is shown in this post with 100% accuracy.

And live in the nineties. Sorry could not help finishing what you left out..

Try a Blackberry Passport and tell me you can’t have a modern smart phone with a keyboard.
