Android Lollipop, the latest major version of Google’s mobile operating system, isn’t just for new devices like the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9. Starting today, Google is going to roll out over-the-air updates to certain devices, including the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, both Nexus 7 tablets and the Nexus 10. Google’s blog post doesn’t provide details on when Google Play Experience phones will get Lollipop, but they should eventually get it as well. To check whether if your device is eligible for an upgrade, go into the “About Phone” menu in the Settings app. You’ll find the option to upgrade to Lollipop under a menu labeled “Software Updates.”
Update 9/12: 9 days later, the official Android account tweeted out that the update is rolling out to Nexus devices. So if you’ve been checking, there’s light at the end of the tunnel.
