Sprint will bid adieu to WiMAX in 13 months

The countdown clock has begun ticking off the days before Sprint’s WiMAX network goes dark. If you still own a Sprint or Virgin Mobile WiMAX phone or a Clearwire hotspot, don’t worry, you have plenty time – 13 months to be exact. On Nov. 6, 2015, Sprint will shut down its old 4G service so it can recycle its spectrum for its small but growing Spark LTE network.
