iPhone 6 and 6 Plus pre-orders were delivered last week and that means package tracking apps were busy. Now that people have their new iPhones is there anything to be learned from the shipment data?

Yes, according to Slice, which aggregates information from its package tracker app: AT&T accounted for nearly half of all U.S. pre-orders among those who used Slice to follow their handset shipment while iPhones compatible with T-Mobile’s network out-shipped those for Sprint’s by a factor of five.

The data from Slice — one of my favorite apps for Android and iOS — literally is a slice of all [company]Apple[/company] iPhone 6 and 6 Plus pre-orders: The data can only be captured by those who used the app to track their iPhone shipment. The sample size for Slice’s data is 13,055 U.S. consumers; a small portion of the 4 million pre-orders but still a significant number.

Here’s the breakdown of the data captured by the company’s app for pre-orders placed between September 12 and 14:

Carrier iPhone 6 iPhone 6 Plus
AT&T 47.4% 53.8%
Sprint 5.2% 4.9%
T-Mobile 19.0% 20.1%
Verizon 28.5 21.2%

The [company]Sprint[/company] data suggests that the carrier’s new CEO Marcelo Claure has work to do to convince consumers that Sprint’s network is up to snuff. That’s going to take time though as Sprint is still rolling out its Spark service which uses three different LTE bands. The new iPhone supports Sprint Spark but the service coverage is relatively limited compared to Sprint’s peers, giving them a speed advantage in many regions of the country.

I was told on September 28 when I placed my order. That my phone would be delivered 11/5-11/14. I received confirmation that my iPhone 6 plus silver 64GB is on its way from ATT thur fedex for a delivery of 11/14

Not true, I ordered my 6 plus when pre-sale started and still don’t have it. It is so annoying that a product is being offered to the world but the company can’t fullfil the demand. It is October 30 (month and a half almost after I ordered my phone) Very smart move Apple sell phones and people still do not get to see or touch them but yet you got the money!

mad

Ordered my phone on Sept. 12. Received confirmation and shipment date. Checked today and the order was canceled without any notification. Oh..by the way..They had no problem taking my money! Guess whos upset and cant get intouch with anyone?

Where my iPhone 6 AT&T
I pre order my phone through AT&T and people can walk into best buy or Apple store and buy them on
The spot wtf

I think one other factor for people buying the T-Mobile (contract-free) version in the US is for people (like me) buying phones for family overseas. I live in Miami, and like a lot of people here our family used our address for new iPhones that are not yet available in countries like Jamaica, Colombia, etc.

I pre-ordered from AT&T only to find out it would be delivered around Thanksgiving. Cancelled my order and went to the Apple store on Saturday, was in and out in 20 minutes.

I made the the mistake of preordering the iPhone 5 back in 2012 it took about a month to receive from Apple, This time around no pre order I walked right into an AT&T store in Midtown NYC at the middle of the day, had a twenty minute wait then I was able to get my new 6 64GB right on launch day, and AT&T had a super system in place, there were more employees than customers in the store when I was there.

I don’t care who ruled, I want my device that I ordered 09/12/2014. Tell AT&T that.

What AT&T can say?) But iphone 6 is very cool, you can wait
