Despite Slingshot’s lack of success, Facebook isn’t done playing with ephemerality. Its latest effort is a test feature in the Facebook application itself. A small group of users have come across “timed” Facebook posts, where they can set their updates to delete after one to 24 hours or two to seven days. A spokesperson told The Next Web it’s just “a small pilot.” Nevertheless, it’s proof the company feels the need to incorporate some aspect of ephemerality into its user experience.
