Andrew Clay Shafer co-founded Puppet Labs (see disclosure), worked on OpenStack stuff at Cloudscaling and Rackspace and is now the senior director of technology for Pivotal. He’s seen and done a lot. So it’s worth hearing his take on why software development projects that are too far removed from actual implementation are challenged; why the piece parts of Pivotal could make an interesting whole; and why, two years after writing his blog on the downside of incubators he would still counsel entrepreneurs to do their own networking, find their own mentors and not waste their time with incubators.
Hosts: Barb Darrow and Derrick Harris
Disclosure: Puppet Labs is backed by True Ventures, a venture capital firm that is an investor in the parent company of Gigaom.
