Ali Rowghani, who has served as Chief Operating Officer of Twitter since 2012, will leave his position, according to a regulatory filing from the company. Rowghani confirmed his departure via the microblogging platform.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Rowghani — who previously served as Twitter’s CFO in 2010 and was a longtime fixture at animation company Pixar Studios in the early 2000s — will continue to work at the company as CEO Dick Costolo’s adviser. There is also no intention to replace Rowghani, whose duties will instead be absorbed by other senior managers.
At Twitter, Rowghani most notably was responsible for tackling the company’s user growth problem and worked closely CEO Costolo. Since the announcement, Twitter’s stock is trading up at $36.98.
