Cisco’s (S CSCO) chief futurist Dave Evans has left the company, reports blogger Brad Reese. According to Evans’s Linkedin profile, Evans is listed as the co-founder and CTO of Silicon Valley stealth start-up. Evans was considered by Cisco executives as a champion of the Internet of Things movement. Earlier this month, Cisco lost Guido Jouret, its vice president and general manager of the company’s Internet of Things department, to Shanghai-based Envision Energy where he will take over its Silicon Valley lab.

So what, I have been a Cisco investor for years and this always happens. Evans get hired by Cisco enhances his resume and sees more money by working for someone else. What is so surprising? Sometimes Cisco has bought these startups and then the a person like Evans is back at Cisco. Sometimes they sell the new venture and cash out. I wish Evans luck as long as he doesn’t compete against Cisco, that is tacky.
