Amazon (s AMZN) Prime Instant Video is now the only subscription service where U.S. users can stream Fox(s NWS) hit 24, the company said Tuesday. The show is no longer available for streaming on Netflix (s NFLX) as of April 1.
All eight seasons of 24 are on Prime now. Episodes of the upcoming 12-episodes series 24: Live Another Day will also appear on Prime “later this year.”
Amazon’s release lists the other shows to which Amazon has exclusive subscription streaming rights: PBS’s Downton Abbey and Mr. Selfridge; FX’s The Americans and Justified; Orphan Black, Falling Skies, Hannibal, Grimm, Workaholics, Suits, Covert Affairs, Teen Wolf, Veronica Mars, CBS’s Under the Dome and upcoming Extant, as well as Nickelodeon shows like SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer, Team Umizoomi, Blue’s Clues and The Bubble Guppies.
The announcement comes ahead of an event Wednesday where Amazon is expected to announce its streaming TV box.
24 is still streaming on Netflix U.K.
Still up in Canada as well
Netflix is actually streaming 24, so it’s not really exclusive to Amazon!
It is gone as of today, in the U.S. But I tweaked this to note it’s still on Netflix streaming in the U.K.
Oversight by me, apologies :)
