Twitter experienced a widespread outage across its desktop platform and API that lasted for roughly half an hour. As of about 11:10 AM PT on Tuesday, apps that use Twitter — including Tweetdeck and Twitter WordPress plugins — were also not connecting.

Upon first logging onto the site, Twitter said something is “technically wrong”:

Twitter updated its Status page at 12:12 PST:

During a planned deploy in one of our core services, we experienced unexpected complications that made Twitter unavailable for many users starting at 11:01am. We rolled back the change as soon as we identified the issue and began a controlled recovery to ensure stability of other parts of the service. The site was fully recovered by 11:47am PDT. We apologize for the inconvenience.

As of 11:45 PT, issues with Twitter seem to be resolved, with tweets dribbling in.
