BitTorrent Inc. released two new mobile apps Wednesday, updating the UI of its BitTorrent and µTorrent Android apps, which together have seen more than 50 million downloads.
The company also announced the integration of BitTorrent Bundles, which help publishers give away content in exchange for email addresses, into its desktop apps. This should give users more direct access to licensed content, and in turn open up a user base of 170 million monthly active users to publishers.
The new integration first went live in µTorrent Wednesday, and will come to the next version of the company’s BitTorrent client next week. The company said Wednesday that it has seen more than 60 million bundle downloads since first introducing the format in 2013.
