After sharing leaked images of Samsung’s purportedly redesigned S Health app on Monday, SamMobile now claims to have gotten a hold of another updated app – S Voice. These images do an even better job of showcasing the new, flatter design that Samsung might be going for in an update to its Android software overlay.
As you can see, the look of the app is pretty flat and minimal – it feels more closely related to Android 4.4 KitKat than it does to Samsung’s previous app. That jibes with a recent report that Samsung is planning to redesign its UI to resemble and feel more like stock Android.
S Voice is Samsung’s answer to Apple’s Siri. Outside of the new look, there doesn’t appear to be any new functionality here — SamMobile claims the app is noticeably faster when it comes to voice detection, though it still lags behind Google Now when it comes to recognizing accents.
Between S Voice and S Health, I have to say I like the changes. Samsung’s TouchWiz UI has been in dire need of a refresh for quite some time now, so I hope we see these changes make it to a big software refresh announced with the Galaxy S5.
