What a week: Microsoft provides its data center server spec to the masses (well to the Open Compute Project anyway) less than a week after IBM pretty much got out of servers altogether. On our latest Structure Show, Derrick Harris and I hash that out along with what we think Google is getting in its $400 million purchase of DeepMind.
And you’ve got to hear John Foreman’s funny, epic take on his family’s recent DisneyWorld visit. Foreman, MailChimp’s chief data scientist, has a fascinating take on what the Disney entertainment colossus can teach the world about big data and analytics and whether we should be delighted or creeped out by it. (Probably a little bit of both.)
So get comfy and listen up people!
