The new year has barely begun, but it’s starting with a bang, and we talk about it all on the Gigaom Show. First, Google bought connected thermostat company Nest for $3.2 billion, generating waves of concern over privacy and robots. Then, a court ruling struck down the notion that ISPs have to play fair with their pipes, thereby possibly ruining the internet for everyone. Though that news is most definitely bleak, we end on a fun note, the quest to rebuild a miniature, working Cray supercomputer.
