Tech professionals by day, rockers by night, on Dec. 12 at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco, they’ll pick up their instruments and venture onto the big stage to let their alter egos shine. Silicon Valley Rocks! will bring together the Valley’s tech community — from VCs and startups to bloggers and software developers — to raise money for Music in Schools Today (MUST), a Bay Area nonprofit that provides music programs in underserved schools. The annual showcase will once again feature original and cover bands that will entertain and amuse your entire social graph. Use discount code “GIGAOM25OFF” and register here.
The lineup includes:
DJ: Forty Fivan (Maravil)
South Hero (Facebook)
Blues Deluxe (Gracenote)
The Funkery (Pandora, Stand Sure)
Peter Chung Band (Supercell, BASIS, BranchOut, Facebook)
Regime (BandPage, featuring members of Big Light)
NSLASHa (Apple, mFoundry)
Open Source Band (Gigaom, Walden Venture Capital, Lyric Find, RDIO)
Coverflow/Rainbow Party (Mayfield)
The proceeds from the event will support music education programs, including training teachers to create interdisciplinary lesson plans using music and scientific principles, providing instruments for classrooms and supporting teaching artists.
Say yes to music and education and join Gigaom at Silicon Valley Rocks! on Dec. 12.
