A robot with a knife can be scary. Even if it isn’t planning some kind of uprising, it can act dangerously around humans by swinging the knife too close to them. Cornell University researchers modified a Baxter robot to take input from “shoppers” in a mock supermarket checkout line, allowing them to correct its dangerous behaviors.
