Kevin Packingham, chief product officer for Samsung’s mobile division, has left the company, the New York Times reports. “Kevin Packingham has departed Samsung Mobile. We thank Kevin for his contributions and wish him well in his future endeavors,” Samsung said in a statement. Packingham’s reason for departure is unknown. He was with Samsung since 2011, working closely on the massively successful Galaxy S III. He also took part in negotiations that allowed Samsung to release the flagship phone on all of the major U.S. carriers, which aided in its success.
