Apple TV adds Disney, Weather Channel, Vevo and Smithsonian apps

Apple (s AAPL) TV added several new apps Tuesday: The Disney (s DIS) Channel and Disney XD, the Vevo music video app, and apps from The Weather Channel and Smithsonian. Back in June, Apple added ESPN and HBO Go apps to its set-top box, and Time Warner Cable (s TWC) apps are reportedly on the way.

The new channels moved MLB under Netflix. So less clicks for me. Other than that, mostly yawns from me.

@Mark press and hold on your middle button on the remote and you can rearrange your AppleTV icons (except for the top row)

The $100 for my Apple TV was the best deal I ever got from Apple. That’s a low price for them.

I can mirror my Macbook Air to watch on my TV. I watch Netflix. It’s awesome that I can see all my iTunes videos on my TV. Too.

Time Warner losing CBS. I wish Apple would take them over and show”Big Bang Theory”.

None of the additions available in Japan AND Apple killed Plexconnect compatibility too.

hello laura,
Apple does not have an agreement with dish network for us to login to disney and other channel via streaming. Do you think that they will partner with dish & directive as well.
