Celebrated filmmaker Werner Herzog has made a short film for the “It Can Wait” campaign, to raise awareness about the dangers of texting while driving. In a statement about the documentary Herzog said, “When you get a message while driving, it’s hard not to pick up your phone. With this film, we want to help make people more aware of the potential consequences of that action.”
Herzog is no stranger to documentary filmmaking, most famously for 2005’s “Grizzly Man.” His short film for the “It Can Wait” campaign, “From One Second to the Next,” expands on the true stories shown in previously released 30-second ads. The film is freely available on YouTube, and will be distributed to over 40,000 high schools across the country.
