Netflix (s NFLX) began testing personalized profiles, which give each member of a household access to his or her own queue and viewing history, in January. Now the company has begun rolling them out — but only on Apple TV (s AAPL) so far, and they’re not available to all Apple TV users yet.
Netflix told MacRumors that “Netflix users who previously set up profiles when using the DVD service will now see those profiles show up on the Apple TV,” and that personalized profiles — which users can set up on the web and then access on other devices — will officially launch later this summer.
The personalized profiles will allow Netflix users to set viewing restrictions for kids’ accounts, and will provide users with customized recommendations.
