The Intel Developer Forum (IDF) is upon us, and I will be there with live Chip Chat podcasts from the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Here’s a quick look at the podcasts:
Monday, Sept. 10, Chip Chat — We’ll kick things off with an exploration of the cloud usage models from the Open Data Center Alliance. You’ll get a chance to hear firsthand from ODCA members as they share their insights into the way the usage models are shaping the future of cloud computing — based on open, interoperable standards.
Tuesday, Sept. 11, Chip Chat — Our guests will dive further into cloud topics. Intel’s Billy Cox, director of Cloud Strategy, will talk about Intel Cloud Builder and how it plays into Intel’s cloud vision. On the same show, Intel Cloud Strategist Greg Scott will discuss big data. Lastly Steve Butler, CEO of Terascale, will discuss single pane of glass management technologies.
Wednesday, Sept. 12, Chip Chat — We’ll shift our focus to the elephant in the room: big data. Pauline Nist, Intel’s general manager for enterprise software strategy, will discuss mission-critical developments related to big data. On the same show, Intel’s Patrick Buddenbaum, director of mission-critical computing, will cover technical computing, and Tom Leyden, director of alliances and marketing at Amplidata, will share his insights into large object stores for big data.
I’m hoping you can join us for these informative sessions. Just follow the Chip Chat links and you’re there.
Allyson Klein is the director of leadership marketing at Intel.
