Testimony is likely to wrap up in the big Apple vs. Samsung patent trial in the Bay Area, and All Things D’s Ina Fried is once again reporting from the courtroom. The two sides spent this morning haggling over two standards-related patents that Samsung claims Apple violated; Apple in turn claimed that Samsung failed to disclose the intellectual property and license it on a fair and reasonable basis as required. Apple has claimed that Samsung owes it $2.5 billion for patent violations, while Samsung subsequently said Apple is actually at fault to the tune of more than $400 million. As The Register notes here, Samsung is wisely hedging its bets by leaving the much smaller figure in the minds of jurors just before they begin considering an outcome.
