Digital Snapshot

One of the world’s Big Four advertising, marketing and communications agencies, Publicis made big splashes in digital by acquiring Digitas in 2006 and Razorfish from Microsoft in 2009. Since then, it has continued to add smaller digital ad shops around the world. To manage client work across the expanding group, Publicis created the in-house VivaKi network, also comprising Starcom MediaVest Group and ZenithOptimedia.

Key Move

It’s all about digital and emerging markets. These are the two fast-growing sectors ad agencies want to cultivate. Last year, they accounted for 52.4 percent of Publicis’ revenue. VivaKi says it spent 35,000 hours researching the best tablet video advertising format. Next, the company wants to be making as much as half of its money from digital advertising.

Our Methodology

Publicis stated digital revenue was 30.6% of its total.
