6 lessons Khosla Ventures learned from cleantech funding

Khosla Ventures held its annual Khosla Ventures Summit 2012 this week at Cavallo Point, just across the bay from San Francisco, and while I wasn’t at the event, thanks to Storify (a Khosla portfolio company) I could catch bits of some of the presentations.

The most poignant to cleantech folks was a slide from Khosla partner Samir Kaul on 6 lessons learned about cleantech funding. His talk was about raising money for cleantech outside of Sand Hill Road, and his main points seemed to be essentially about ways to save capital in the scale up process. Khosla has probably the single largest cleantech portfolio out there with a lot of early stage bets in biofuels and energy storage.
