While rival subscription streaming services like Netflix and Hulu Plus have been widely available in the game console realm for some time, Amazon’s fledgling Prime Instant Video has been limited to a handful of over-the-top services, such as Roku. Well, no more.
Amazon announced Tuesday that its Prime Instant Video app is now available for the Sony PlayStation 3 console, letting PlayStation Network users who subscribe to the Amazon service stream more than 17,000 movies and TV shows, as well as download
Sony has also agreed to prominently feature the app on all PS3 systems sold in the U.S.
