Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Will Launch Metered Paywall

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Starting tomorrow, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel readers who are not print subscribers will have to pay for online access above 20 articles per month, in a digital subscription program called “JS Everywhere.”

The Journal Sentinel will charge non-print subscribers an introductory rate of $0.99 per month, and thereafter $2.35 per week for “full access to JSOnline.com, the Journal Sentinel e-Edition, content previously in Packer Insider and the Journal Sentinel’s mobile website.” Packer Insider is the Journal-Sentinel’s premium Green Bay Packers content, which until now has cost $6.95 per month or $44.95 per year.

Readers can access up to 20 articles per month, including “blogs, chats and photo galleries,” for free. Some content is always free: the “home page, section pages, all videos, Tap, NewsWatch, NOW, Lake Country Reporter, death notices, classified ads, Car Soup and House & Home.” Articles accessed via Facebook or Twitter links are free “on a limited basis.”

All digital content is free to print subscribers, including those who pay $2.30 per week for only the Sunday print edition of the paper.
