Preorders for iPhone 4S open to 22 additional countries

Apple(s aapl) announced when it unveiled the iPhone 4S that it would reach 22 more countries by the end of October. In keeping with that time line the company opened up preorders for the device in those countries on Friday, with expected shipping times of one to two weeks.

Here are the new countries where iPhone 4S preorders are now live:

  • Austria
  • Belgium
  • Czech Republic
  • Denmark
  • Estonia
  • Finland
  • Hungary
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • Latvia
  • Liechtenstein
  • Lithuania
  • Luxembourg
  • Mexico
  • Netherlands
  • Norway
  • Singapore
  • Slovakia
  • Spain
  • Sweden
  • Switzerland
After its initial launch in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, the U.K. and the U.S. on Oct. 14, Apple announced that it had seen 4 million orders in the phone’s first three days of availability. We’ll see if Apple keeps up the record-breaking momentum as the international rollout continues.

The extremely large pre-order numbers just go to show that apple doesn’t have add many new features to the iPhone to get a large amount of sales.

Beats me why India is never in these ‘early’ lists. It could be operator strategy and how users always pay full price and do not get a subsidized priced phone.

No Siri. Sorry India. :-)
