Apple announces Oct. 4 iPhone event

Apple (s aapl) has officially announced its iPhone event, to be held on Oct. 4 as previously reported. The event will take place at Apple’s Cupertino Campus in California, beginning at 10 a.m. PDT (1 p.m. EDT), according to press invitations issued by Apple on Tuesday.

The invitation features a depiction of iPhone home screen icons, and the phrase “Let’s talk iPhone,” so there’s no doubt the next smartphone from Apple will be on the agenda. We’ll be sure to be there watching closely next Tuesday, and will bring you all the news coming out of the event.

I think your reading into it too much. Apple is saying…on the Tuesday the 4th at 10AM at this location you have a message waiting.

El Murr Carl

it will be called IPHONE 1 ! mini iPhone like the NANO with only four icons with strong voice recognition software… that’s my bet

Umed Rawat

I think Let’s talk iPhone is about the voice assistance on iPhone which would be the next big thing… 1 is for one more thing, that could be iPhone 4s along with the iPhone5

The ‘Lets Talk iPhone’ is a bit of a subtle hint at the personal assistant thing I read about yesterday, I think.

So, there’s only 1 new iPhone according to the icon or is it for One Infinite Loop?

Erich Heintz

1 Infinite Loop is covered by the MAPS icon. Not like Apple to duplicate messages that way. More likely 1 new iPhone. Or it could be the the new iPhone is covered by the phone icon itself and the 1 indicates there will also be “one more thing”.
