YouView has appointed BSkyB (NYSE: BSY) chief architect Chris Bramley its CTO, as it rolls toward an early-2012 launch.

The system is now in testing and we understand YouView is shooting to launch around Valentine’s Day – a date delayed from summer 2011.

It has been without a formal CTO since Anthony Rose left in December 2010, but has had Jeff Hunter as chief architect and Sef Turner as head of technical delivery. They will continue in those roles.

Bramley rolled out Sky Anytime, Sky Player and Sky Go, having previously worked at Ioko and EMI Music.
