Pre-IPO Zynga continues to lure execs from competitors. The latest, paidContent has learned: Adam Sussman, who is leaving Disney (NYSE: DIS) Interactive Media Group for the social gaming company. A Disney spokesperson confirmed the move.
Sussman, who joined DIMG from EA Mobile in January as SVP-publishing for Disney Games, is credited with building out its global publishing business. My understanding is he will narrow his focus to mobile at Zynga, where he will be working for David Ko. Zynga declined comment.
It’s a loss for Disney, which, like other mature businesses, can have trouble holding on to some execs in a hot start-up market. Even with the status of IPOs in doubt these days, the potential win plus the salary at a company like Zynga can be a big draw.
He’s the second DIMG exec to switch companies this week. Paul LaFontaine, a VP for global distribution at Playdom turned up as the new CEO of Sulake, succeeding Timo Soininen at the Finnish company that operates teen virtual world Habbo Hotel.
