One of the neatest features of Google’s Hangouts video chat service is the ability to collectively watch YouTube videos. We’ve been having so much fun with this feature that we decided to experiment with turning it into a show we like to call Hanging out with… For the first episode, we’re joined by Jamie Wilkinson and Casey Pugh of Vhx.tv. The duo shared some of their favorite YouTube videos with us, and we talked a little bit about their site. Check it out:
Of course, this is just a first trial run, and you’ll have to excuse any roughness around the edges. After all, we are still just playing around with this. However, we do feel that social video experiences like the ones enabled by Google Hangouts are a big deal and we want to explore ways to use them in our day-to-day work here at NewTeeVee, showcasing both online videos and the people who shape this industry.
