Mail Online, the most popular UK newspaper website network, returned to double-digit growth in March.
The Daily Mail (LSE: DMGT) & General Trust website network’s daily average browsers rose 16.5 percent on February’s minor slump to 3,661,666 with monthly users up almost 30 percent month on month, according to the latest figures from the Audit Bureau of Circulations. UK users accounted for 32.7 percent of total online traffic.
Guardian.co.uk, which is part of the network that publishes MediaGuardian.co.uk, posted a 10.67 percent rise in daily users last month, to 2,722,490. Monthly users grew by 24.5 percent month on month. UK users accounted for 37 percent of all online traffic.
Telegraph.co.uk recorded a significant rise in daily average users last month, up 7.78 percent to 1,995,655. UK users accounted for 34 percent of online traffic.
Mirror Group Digital’s network of sites suffered a second consecutive month-on-month fall in online traffic in March, with a 2 percent slide in daily average users to 537,355. It has fallen some way from its record high, posted in January, of 602,685. Monthly users were up 4.75 percent month on month. UK users accounted for 56 percent of total online traffic.
Independent.co.uk also recorded a dip in daily users last month, falling 2.56 percent to 605,328, but still remaining ahead of Mirror Group Digital. Monthly users were up 7.1 percent. UK users accounted for 42 percent of online traffic.
Associated Newspapers’ Metro returned to publishing figures – the Monday to Friday freesheet began in January and then did not supply figures in February – with daily average users at 255,394.
The London Evening Standard’s website reported 154,751 daily average users last month.
