Reader’s Digest Association is making its first acquisition since emerging from bankruptcy just over a year ago, buying home and DIY-focused ad network Haven Home Media. The company, which told MediaWeek last June that it was on track to reach about $4 million in sales in 2010, says its network reaches 15 million unique visitors a month.
Reader’s Digest already owns top DIY magazine and website The Family Handyman and says the addition of Haven Home Media means it will now reach 24 million “home and DIY consumers.” In its announcement, Reader’s Digest says it is taking the same approach to the home and DIY category as it has taken with the food category, where its properties include AllRecipes.
