Movie renter Lovefilm – which already has Lesley MacKenzie as digital director – is adding Nick James as digital technical development director, for in-house technology leadership as it rolls on to a growing number of digital platforms.
James, a 12-year BSkyB (NYSE: BSY) digital executive veteran, joins from Twocashew, the VOD consultancy he founded.
Lovefilm is on PS3, Sony (NYSE: SNE) Internet TV and Samsung Internet@TV, its IPTV apps made by Pushbutton.
Over the last year, Lovefilm has added former GMG digital chief Simon Waldman as group product director plus then-Five CEO Dawn Airey and Playfish CEO Kristian Segerstråle and German ISP exec and Roland Steindorf to its board.
MacKenzie joined early in 2010.
