Open Book Video Shuts Down; Prohaska Joins [X+1]

An update since we covered the company when it launched last summer: Open Book Video, the online video ad network started by former Smartclip North America CEO Matt Prohaska, has shut down. Prohaska has moved on to behavioral ad targeter x+1, where he will now be SVP of media solutions and will focus on that company’s “media sourcing, campaign management and clients’ strategy.”

Prohaska had told us in August that Open Book would differentiate itself by being uber-transparent with publishers about the rates they are getting, and with advertisers about where their ads are running. We’ve asked Prohaska what happened at Open Book, which had 12 employees at launch, but haven’t heard back.
