Hollywood business-focused news site TheWrap has made a small acquisition, buying up ItsOnTheGrid, a site which features searchable listings of film projects in active development in Hollywood, along with open writing assignments. The site charges users between $14.99 and $27.99 a month to access the information.
TheWrap says that ItsOnTheGrid will complement its existing news coverage and calendar and that it will now be “rolling out products supported by ItsOnTheGrid.com that provide advertisers with an innovative channel to connect with entertainment industry professionals.” ItsOnTheGrid founder Jason Scoggins is joining TheWrap as chief product officer and general manager of ItsOnTheGrid.
TheWrap, which was founded by former NYT Hollywood correspondent Sharon Waxman, did not disclose how much it was paying for ItsOnTheGrid, although it says it handed over both cash and stock for the company. TheWrap raised $2 million in a second round of funding last April, which it said at the time it would use in part to develop new revenue streams.
