Disney Digital Hires Brooke Chaffin As SVP, Women & Family


The new management at Disney (NYSE: DIS) Interactive Media Group has made its first high-profile hire, luring Brooke Chaffin, president of Auditude, to run the company’s portfolio of websites targeted at mothers and families.

James Pitaro, who was named co-president of DIMG a few months ago, knows Chaffin having worked with her at Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO), where Chaffin spent six years in the media division. As senior vice president of women and family, she will oversee properties like Family.com, which was part of the portfolio previously overseen by Paul Yanover, who exited the company last month after overseeing all Disney dot-coms, which Pitaro now runs.

I am pleased to announce that Brooke Chaffin will be joining Disney Interactive Media Group and Disney Online as Senior Vice President of Women and Family. In this newly created role, Brooke will oversee our family experiences for Disney Online, including those focused on moms and babies, to continue advancing the efforts made by our fantastic team in this space. Growing our reach and engagement in this category is a top priority.

Brooke has been working in our industry for more than 10 years and her experience will be invaluable to us. Previously, she served as the President of Auditude, Inc., a media and technology company focused on solving some of the most challenging issues around online video distribution and monetization. Prior to joining Auditude, Brooke spent six years at Yahoo! in a variety of roles in Yahoo!’s Media Group where she was responsible for content strategy and new business development for Yahoo!’s media properties, including sites focused on women, lifestyles and entertainment.

Brooke is a mother of twin boys and has consumed hundreds of hours of Baby Einstein over the past year. She is thrilled to join the talented team at DIMG and will be sitting on the second floor with the Family.com team.
