Disney Gowalla

Disney/Gowalla: Disney (NYSE: DIS) Parks is teaming up with location service Gowalla to add a free “check-in” feature to hundreds of sites at Disneyland and Disney World, with badges for each location, which people can collect using their smartphones. Gowalla has also created Passport pages for the parks, which include maps with “check-in streams” that act as itineraries around specific themes, such as rides for small children, or wild animals. GetJar/Yahoo: Another development in the world of app discovery. App store GetJar is now starting to work with Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) to integrate its catalogue of 75,000 apps into Yahoo’s mobile search. People will receive a group of relevant apps when making a Yahoo mobile search query. They can also continue to use GetJar’s storefront to find apps. The service is first being integrated in the U.S. with other countries to follow. [GetJar blog]
