Plum TV Promotes Lehman To CEO As Part Of Multi-Platform Expansion

Nick Lehman, EVP and GM, Plum TV

As part of what it is describing as a multi-million dollar expansion, which will span print, TV and online, lifestyle network Plum TV is shuffling its top management. Former IAC (NSDQ: IACI) executive Nick Lehman, who joined the company as an EVP in March, is taking over as CEO; Jerry Powers, who co-founded luxury magazine company Ocean Drive Media Group, will be executive chairman and co-chairman of the company’s board.

Plum TV, which owns local basic cable channels in Aspen, Sun Valley, Miami Beach and other enclaves of the rich, says it will soon launch “new digital experiences,” mobile apps, events, and regional lifestyle publications, and also move into additional TV markets.

The first edition of a 10-times-a-year glossy lifestyle magazine covering Miami is coming out next month; seasonal Hamptons and Aspens editions will follow in 2011. The company, which has raised nearly $25 million from former CEO Tom Freston, Jimmy Buffet, Bob Pittman’s executive group and Robert Kraft, among others, says its board is “independently funding” this expansion.

Brian Bedol, who founded and sold cable nets Classic Sports and CSTV to ESPN (NYSE: DIS) and CBS (NYSE: CBS), respectively, had been serving as acting CEO and executive chairman. Bedol is relinquishing those titles but staying on the company’s board.
