Mobile Content Bits: Disney; Google/Microsoft; Bon Jovi Social Games

Disney released four Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) apps today. First, a new update to the ad-supported Radio Disney app lets listeners request songs, learn of local events and contact DJs. The free app has already had 1 million downloads to date. The next two, strictly for the under-fives, are Disney’s first apps based on a Disney (NYSE: DIS) Playhouse character, Handy Manny. Handy Manny’s Workshop and Flicker’s Flashcard Fiesta are both priced at $2.99. Finally, Tapulous, which Disney acquired in July, is releasing Lady Gaga Revenge 2, a variation on their popular Tap Tap Revenge game. It sells for $4.99.

Google/Microsoft: Hot on the heels of Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) releasing the Windows Phone 7 in the U.S., Google (NSDQ: GOOG) has released an app in the Marketplace that provides a direct link to Google’ search portal without going through the web browser. Some are seeing it as a quick step from Google to keep Bing’s progress in check. [via InformationWeek]

Bon Jovi/Crowdstar: The social gaming company is populating some of its most popular games – Happy Island, Happy Aquarium and It Girl – with bundled merchandise from the Eighties’ rocker to promote his new album. Items include a digital download of Bon Jovi Greatest Hits, branded Bon Jovi virtual goods, and a coupon code for the Bon Jovi online store. The campaign will run for three weeks.
