A couple of items I saw today started me thinking about “social TV” again. While we wait for Yahoo Widgets and Google TV, there’s plenty of untapped opportunity in twin-screen experiences. Most Americans are online quite often while they’re watching TV, yet the two activities are rarely related. I remember ABC’s Monday Night Football – yes, back before ESPN took over – simulcast play-along games. They even synched commercials. At the other extreme, is it really any wonder impresario-entrepreneur and Warhol wannabe Josh Harris couldn’t sell his latest scheme to sponsors? (Think home-made Big Brother on steroids.)
