If there’s cloud news today aside from Microsoft deciding to make Windows Azure an IaaS platform as well as a PaaS platform, I don’t know what it is. On top of that, Microsoft has greatly eased the process of porting existing applications to Azure without rewriting them. Add on a bunch of developer-friendly additions and advanced management, and you have a cloud offering that looks like nothing else available. I used to question whether Microsoft could move fast enough to make up ground in cloud computing, but that concern has passed.
