PE Firm Legion Capital Launches To Fund Young Male-Centric Start-Ups

While a lot of investors in the media and tech spaces inevitably end up throwing a lot of money at companies that focus on the younger male demographic as a matter of course, Legion Capital Investments is saying that’s where it will be fixing its gaze from the outset. The New York-based company is preparing a full rollout later this year, but it has already completed its first investment in ShapeMix Music, a Boston based developer of mobile music applications currently in stealth mode. In an interview with paidContent, Michael Sepso, co-founder, CEO and chairman of Legion Enterprises, said that the company’s goal is not just to fund such companies, but in some cases, it wants to run them as well as part of a general media network covering the male 16- to 24-year-old demo.
